GIRL AT PARTY (2022) dir, Jess O’Kane ★★★

Review by Fernando Figueroa

Perhaps they are not powers, but rather the property or condition of absorbing life and metaphor. Am I right in seeing a palpable similarity to the last breath? A millionth metaphor of Death enjoying its mission in the form and body of Lily. Only this time she really liked her prey called Kin, whose last minutes she spent philosophising about ‘space ghettos’ in comparison to the Spicy Girls and fornicating with the stranger. Did I mention that the serum could be a metaphor for time in an hourglass, counting down…?
