Wild (2019) dir, Jan Verdijk ★★★★

Review by Fernando Figueroa

in

Plutarch, in ‘On Eating Meat,’ explained that eating raw meat was reserved for wolves and lions, and therefore it was cooked to civilise it and avoid animality, which is evidently already inherent in this passive-aggressive father and husband.

In the bucolic splendour of the Dutch hills of Limburg, this fantastic masterpiece compactly delivers, with a karmic bang, the deserved outcome—or is it?—of a dominant, macho beast in a family. All it took was for outsiders, such as hunters, to arrive to see what that poor family already ‘saw’ every day with that guy. Impossible? Anything is possible in the Twilight Zone, all that was missing in voiceover… Bravo! La maldición de la Blonda existe, chingada madre 🙂
