Of course it’s true! Some dogs (a metaphor for the yakuza henchmen in this story) bite the hand that feeds them (gives them work). That’s why the henchmen of the gangster Mr. Wang rebel at the beginning and interfere in the negotiations with Mr. Lee.Look at the scene where the van is stolen (30:04): the half-turn kick doesn’t even hit the thugs who fall in the middle of the street, but it was enough to steal the vehicle. In fact, it’s not bad enough acting to prevent the viewer from continuing to watch and thus verify, as in my case, whether the cliché of the foreigner will come true. -Shu Shangan, Chang Lo- who has just arrived from Hong Kong and whom we know has unwittingly got rid of some local drug dealers who answer to Wang. Yes, we know that the cliché is true: the foreigner who claims to feel no hatred or curiosity to avenge his father and mother – at least that was his response to police officer Nabuki, who claims to have lost his father when he was set on fire and doused with petrol by Wang’s henchmen. The protagonist, who is almost mute and also completely unknown in Japan after returning from Hong Kong, as I said, but also a film star, and that’s the best thing in low-budget films like this, will befriend, if such a thing exists, a couple of nobodies or small-time crooks who gave him food and one of them gave him help, putting him in touch with Wang’s lieutenant, who demanded that he return the money agreed for the smuggling job.

He only gave them 100,000 and promised 2 million. Here we see the umpteenth beating of the outsider without him even breaking a sweat, and then they give the money back to the oppressed man with whom he eats and lives until he finds out where Wang’s hideout is. I’ll give it a try, but it doesn’t even reach three stars, not because the work is boring, but to begin with, Chang Lo is not charismatic in his revenge, and it’s possible not to feel empathy for someone who for almost 90 minutes doesn’t seem to be looking for anything and the others seem to be telling him to avenge his mother. But in the end, in the scene of violence and action against Wang himself, who is a master swordsman, the woman sitting next to the thug who is bleeding profusely says she can’t see him, and another person recognises the lady for lying to Wang to protect the child. Who are they talking about? Dinner at the end before the credits roll, and just like that, the action and revenge that was never attempted but came anyway is over.
